Teen's rape goes viral: Hashtag mocking teen's rape goes viral, teen speaks out

A teen’s alleged rape and abuse is going viral, thanks to social media tweets from her attackers. The 16-year-old Houston teen is now candidly speaking out about her rapists, who posted images on Twitter – both actual pics from the rape and taunting reenactment photos.

Reports BET.com on July 10: “What’s even more disturbing about this case is that her alleged attacker has been taunting her on Twitter calling her a ‘hoe’ and a ‘snitch.’ (His Twitter account ‘WhiteBoyFlair’ doesn’t exist anymore as of July 10.) Not to mention, his friends and supporters (both male and female) have created a hashtag #jadapose, making fun of her by posting images of themselves posing in positions that mirror the images of her attack, according to The Root.

The teen, who identified herself to the media only as “Jada,” claims she was drugged and then raped last month while partying at a friend’s house. After tweets surfaced from her alleged rapists, Jada and her family are speaking out, against both the actual rape, and the fact that Jada had to live through the ordeal again after sickening posts and images were seen by countless thousands.

Jada saw images of herself, naked and unconscious, posted on Twitter.

“There's no point in hiding,” the high school junior said. “Everybody has already seen my face and my body, but that’s not what I am and who I am.”

Jada says she was “just hanging out,” and got “swopped in” to getting drunk on spiked punch that was being served at the party. She also believes that she was drugged. Jada says she had no memory of being raped, and still doesn’t – the social media pictures and tweeting messages said it all.

“Everybody knows,” said Jada. “And everybody’s texting me, ‘are you OK?’ I had no control. I didn’t tell anyone to take my clothes off and do what they did to me.”

Jada’s mother, who also chose not to identify herself, said she supports her daughter’s decision to go public and speak out about the sexual abuse.

“No one’s daughter deserved this,” the mother said. “No human being deserved this.”

The alleged tweets from the rapists have been taken down, though the Huffington Post carried a number of the mocking messages. Warning – they are explicit.

Since the incident went public, scorners are using the hashtag #jadapose and tweeting pics in cruel imitation of sexual positions and Jada’s body. Houston police are investigating the incident.

Says HuffPost: “The Root has identified at least one alleged attacker in the sexual assault as Innel Yahia, who has taken to Twitter to make jest of the allegations and maintain his innocence.”
