“Teen Mom” star Leah Calvert has been sharing her struggles with viewers of the show, as fans have been following her journey to find out what is haunting her daughter, Ali. Fans have been part of many doctor’s visits in hopes of learning what little Ali has. But it sounds like Leah finally has an answer. According to a new Hollywood Life report published on Jan. 22, “Teen Mom” star Leah Calvert revealed that her daughter has a rare and incurable form of muscular dystrophy on last night’s episode.
Leah has been supporting her daughter throughout this entire journey and now she is speaking out about it. “We were scared because we didn’t know what her future was going to look like, but we always pushed for answers. We never gave up, and we never will. We’ll do everything we can to make sure Ali has the life that she needs,” Leah revealed In Touch magazine after learning of her daughter’s diagnosis.
“The disorder affects her respiratory system and progresses the older she gets. The bigger she gets and the more weight she gains, the harder it’ll be for her muscles to carry the weight,” Leah explained. In other words, she can walk now but she will be forced to be in a wheelchair when she grows older.
