“Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood was released from prison last year and she has been thrilled to spend some time with her daughter. While she was in prison, Gary Shirley took care of their daughter. And while he has no problem sharing his daughter with her mother these days, he is protecting her for the future. According to a new Hollywood Life report published on Feb. 1, “Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood has changed after getting out of prison.
“Before prison, I was not worried about Leah,” Amber has revealed. And while not everything will be going back to normal, it sounds like she is changing for the better. “I feel like she has her daughter in mind more,” Gary admitted after she was released from prison. “I think she’s still adjusting to being out of prison. She needs to accept Leah at the age she is, versus the age she was when Amber went away.”
And even though Amber is out of prison and taking care of Leah, Gary isn’t about to sign over custody of their daughter just yet. He is responsible for Leah and he doesn’t know whether Amber will fall back into old ways. “It’s going to stay the way it is to protect Leah,” Gary revealed about the future of their custody agreement.
What do you think of their plan to co-parent with Gary having custody of her?
