“Teen Mom 2” star Leah Messer-Calvert and Corey Simms daughter, Ali, is defying the odds. Despite being confined to a wheelchair six months ago, the tot is running and doing better than ever, In Touch reported on Feb. 26.
“Ali is running,” Leah told the magazine. “She has so much determination. We’re in awe of how she handles adversity."
Recently, as fans saw on “Teen Mom 2,” Ali was diagnosed with a rare and incurable form of muscular dystrophy, but she isn’t letting that stop her.
“She’s doing so much better than expected. We don’t know what the future holds, but this is proof that we should never give up hope,” Leah Messer said. Fittingly, Ali’s middle name is Hope.
The “Teen Mom” says the outpouring of love she’s received from fans is heartwarming. “One girl who reached out to me also suffers from muscular dystrophy,” she reveals. “It made my hope for Ali so much more realistic.”
