'Teen Mom' Jenelle Evans: Bipolar and pregnant (Video)

Jenelle Evans of "Teen Mom 2" has posted pictures of her baby bump on Instagram, according to a report published by USA Today on Jan. 17.

The photographs were most likely posted to silence those that were accusing her and Courtland Rogers of making up the pregnancy story. The Stir posted on Jan. 16 that the reality star may have been faking her pregnancy in order to get money from tabloids. Comments on that story ranged from those who believed she and her new husband were lying about it to those that were throwing the "don't judge" card.

The "Teen Mom 2" star is approximately seven weeks pregnant and says it was unplanned. She missed a few birth control pills and realized she was carrying another child when she had an appointment with her doctor.

Jenelle Evans has been married to Courtland Rogers for one month and says that she was really surprised. She insists that they are happy and excited about the baby and are going to do the best they can to be good parents.

The "Teen Mom 2" star does not have custody of her son, Jace, who is currently being cared for by his grandmother, Barbara Evans.

The reality star has been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and must take medications to control her symptoms. Many mood stabilizers and anti-psychotics lead to birth defects, which may cause Jenelle to stop taking them. However, it is important that she speak with her psychiatrist and determine if she should remain on her medication, change to a different prescription or if she should discontinue treatment until she gives birth in September.

Health.com reports that women who stop taking their medication may end up having a manic or depressive episode. The relapse rate during the postpartum phase is as high as 70% and research has indicated that those with Bipolar disorder are 100 times more likely than other woman to experience postpartum psychosis, which can lead to infanticide.
