Tonight’s episode of Teen Mom 3 opened with Briana getting a pedicure with a friend. She decided she wanted to go to the club for her 18th birthday. Briana and her friends met her mom and Brittany for dinner first, and Briana opened her cards. After dessert, Briana said her good-byes and headed out for her first night out since Nova was born.
Alex talked to Matt on the phone and felt he was finally making progress. She told him she was proud, and he mentioned he wanted to get some time away from the halfway house to see Arabella for her birthday. At home, Alex told her mom the updates and said she cared about Matt as a human being and Arabella’s father, but she had moved on. Her mom was skeptical, but Alex wanted Arabella to have a father.
Mackenzie continued to feel depressed after Josh told her he wanted time apart. A friend stopped over, so Mackenzie talked to her about the situation. They Skyped with another friend to try and cheer Mackenzie up. The girls decided to go camping.
After their constant fighting, Joey had been spending a lot of time at his mom’s house. Katie talked to a friend on the phone about her relationship troubles with Joey and the uncertainty in getting things to work out. Meanwhile, Joey told his step-dad how awful their trip to Salt Lake City had been. He suggested the couple separate and take time apart.
Mackenzie left Gannon with her mom and went camping with her friends to take Mackenzie’s mind off Josh. The girls struggled to get their tent set up as it started to rain, so a nice man passing by helped them get it into the ground.
Katie had to work all day, so Joey stopped by the store with Molli. As Katie breast-fed, Joey suggested they separate and take a break. Katie didn’t want to take a break and said she was happier with Joey than without him, but he told her he wasn’t happy fighting all the time.
Alex thought about dating again and had even been texting a guy she used to go to school with. She took her sister, her friend, and Arabella to go mini-golfing with the guy and his friends. Alex filled them in on Matt’s situation, and Alex’s “date,” David, informed her he likes little kids and was okay going on dates with her coming along.
Briana and her friends changed and went to the club, but Briana quickly found she didn’t like the music and wanted to get out of there in a hurry. As they drove home the next morning, all of the girls talked about how terrible the club had been. She got home and was hesitant to tell her mom and sister what had really gone on. Briana said she hadn’t spent any money and wanted to get a tattoo, but her mom and sister told her not to. Eventually, Briana felt bad for lying and told her mother she went to the club and had a terrible time, which her mom was happy about.
Joey started staying elsewhere, and Katie was frustrated when he promised to take Molli for the weekend but wouldn’t answer his phone. He finally showed up, and the two argued some more before he took Molli and left. Joey took Molli back to his mom’s place and told her and his step-dad about the recent fight with Katie. They just wanted him to be happy and couldn’t understand why Katie called Joey a “deadbeat baby daddy.” Back at their apartment, Katie called her friend to tell her Joey left, and she wasn’t sure he was coming back.
The rain cleared, and Mackenzie and her friends toasted marshmallows around the fire. Mackenzie discussed the situation with Josh. She went home the next day and got a message from Josh, asking her to come get her saddle. Mackenzie was disappointed that all Josh wanted was for her to get her stuff, not that he missed her and wanted to see her. Regardless, she went to his house, but he wasn’t home. She sat with Gannon on the grass and waited for 45 minutes before finally calling her mom to tell her she was coming home.
Alex’s sister told her she liked David much more than Matt and even felt like he was better with Arabella than Matt. She and Alex were both happy Alex had someone else to socialize and spend time with.
Joey brought Molli back home to Katie, who was angry Joey didn’t want to sit down and talk to her. Joey said he could do whatever he wanted, and she could do whatever she wanted, but he couldn’t be with her. Katie was in tears and hysterical at the thought of a permanent break-up, because she didn’t want to be alone. Joey left once more.
