'Teen Mom 2' Season 3: 'The Future is Now' recap

Tonight’s episode of Teen Mom 2 started out with Kailyn getting ready to drop Isaac off at Jo’s for the first time in almost a month, since the PFA was dropped and they agreed not to include significant others in their Isaac exchanges. The drop off went without issue, and all Kailyn really did was warn Jo about Isaac’s cold.

Jenelle read her friend Allison a text message from Kieffer in which he told her he loved her and that it was him, Jenelle, and Jace against the world. Allison warned Jenelle to be careful and hoped things would go better than last time. Since Jenelle was almost done with her probation, she would be allowed to see Kieffer again.

Chelsea adjusted and learned a lot in beauty school. Adam called her to ask to go to lunch so that he could see Aubree, and Chelsea proceeded to talk to herself about the situation after they hung up. By the time Chelsea got to her mom’s house, she still hadn’t heard back from Adam, so she texted him again to see if he still wanted to see Aubree. He replied and said he was too tired and was going to bed early. Too bad for Adam, Chelsea caught him saying he was going to a movie with a friend on Facebook and got very irritated. When Chelsea texted him again, he told her he wasn’t ditching Aubree, he was ditching Chelsea. Chelsea felt frustrated she was going to have to deal with him for the rest of her life.

Leah continued to try to have the best of both worlds and talked to Kayla about her confusing feelings for Jeremy and Corey. She seemed to think she and Corey worked well together and appreciated the fact that Jeremy was staying around. Eventually, she said she wanted to make things work with Corey because he makes her family complete.

Jenelle went home to tell her mom the latest Kieffer developments, and she told her to put her “antenners” on to watch out for him. Finally, after a year on probation, Jenelle and her lawyer read through a document that officially put an end to it and hugged to seal the deal.

Jo talked to his mom about the situation with Kailyn and the idea of taking counseling or anger management sessions together. Meanwhile, Kailyn told Javi the details of her new agreement with Jo. Javi thought Kailyn was making excuses for Jo putting his hands on her, but she reminded him she put her hands on Jo as well. Javi still didn’t think that was a good reason.

Leah went to visit Corey at his new house. He said, “Why can’t I get over your little ass?” Leah laughed, but she told Corey she needed to know what he wanted to do. Corey asked what Jeremy said, and Leah told him that he said she needed to make up her mind. Corey said that scared him too, since he was a good enough guy to wait. He added that if they were going to do it, they should just do it and take it slow. Leah suggested counseling and wasn’t confident in Corey saying they could “try it.”

While out with friends, Adam talked about the situation with Chelsea and how he would always love her and have her back, but he wouldn’t take her back. He got advice from a much older friend, Jerry, who has three kids of his own with someone he would rather kill. He said instead of shooting, he waves. (Great advice).

Leah took the girls to her mom’s house. She told her about the idea of working things out with Corey. Leah’s mom, Dawn, told her it was about whatever was best for her and the girls. The solution Leah came to was to ask Jeremy to move out until she had gone through counseling with Corey and figured things out. Again, she repeated, “Corey completes my family.”

Chelsea and Aubree met her friend Laura in the park and broke the big news: she got her menstrual cycle for the month. Laura told her to use protection the next time, and Chelsea told her she made a doctor appointment to get back on birth control. Laura reminded Chelsea again to use protection.

Jenelle met Kieffer, who crept up behind her and gave her a hug. They sat down to talk, and Kieffer told her he got his GED. Jenelle talked about probation, and Kieffer told her she looked good before complimenting her tan. He asked if she liked his muscles and gave one a kiss. The two strolled off together, hand in hand.

With everything going on, Kailyn had fallen behind in school. She met with an advisor and told him she dropped two classes and probably wouldn’t take a full load the next semester either. She wasn’t happy to hear she would be in school for another two-and-a-half years if she continued at that pace. At home, Kailyn talked to Javi’s cousin, who told her he felt lazy when he didn’t take five classes and was only taking four at the time. She gave him her lengthy list of excuses on why she had to drop classes, but it was obvious he didn’t agree with her.

Jeremy returned home from being away for a week, and Leah sat down to talk to him about her plan. He asked what it meant for them being engaged. Leah told him she agreed to go to counseling with Corey, so he asked if that meant they were done. He told her she was blind to Corey, and the girls were old enough to see their parents fighting. Jeremy warned her that as soon as he got his stuff and left, he would be done, so he packed his stuff and left. As he was on his way out, Leah asked if he wanted her ring back, so he took it, and there was Leah, ugly crying on the couch yet again.
