"Teen Mom 2" has reportedly been canceled after five seasons on MTV.

“There is no season 6 of Teen Mom 2,” a production source revealed to Radar Online on March 14. “Season 5 is the girls’ last season.”

“They want to end Teen Mom 2 with high ratings,” the insider added.

The fifth season of "Teen Mom 2" has been doing really well since it's Jan. 2014 premiere. This week, it won the night for MTV, and while it's understandable that the network would want to go out while still being a winning show, it's a little strange that they've allegedly chosen to take a show that is reaching the top honor in cable TV off the network -- especially considering it is one of the network's biggest shows -- if not the biggest.

Either way, fans haven't seen the last of the cast quite yet. Not only does the fifth season have plenty more episodes, the cast will also be featured in several additional episodes later in the year.

“They are extending season 5,” the source said. “But no more after that.”

“Though it is not season six, per se, it’s pretty much another season. The girls already filmed a reunion for ‘season 5′ but this season is technically ‘season 5b.’”

In prior reports, it has been said that the cast began filming the sixth season, likely in January, and that seems to be true.
