"Teen Mom 2" is currently airing its fifth season on MTV, but according to recent reports, it could be the series' last. Although the show has been doing great in the ratings since it's January premiere, rumor has it that the show has been canceled and will end after season 5b.

Since the girls have been filming what was reported to be a sixth season, there is a lot of footage that will be left over. But instead of moving forward with the sixth season, it was reported that the footage would turn into an extension of season five, season 5b.

However, according to a producer, nothing has yet been decided.

In regard to the ongoing speculation, executive producer Morgan J. Freeman told Hollywood News Daily on March 18 that the rumors are “not true.”

Unfortunately, that's all Freeman said. So, that still leaves fans wondering what will come of "Teen Mom 2."

Will the series continue to air all of its footage during season five, or will they move forward with season six later this year? Either possibility is something that is possible, but with a fifth installment of "16 & Pregnant" coming soon, it makes sense that MTV would want to do a separate season of "Teen Mom 2," as to keep the buzz going.

Only time will tell!

"Teen Mom 2" airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. on MTV.
