A DeKalb County teen was indicted on Tuesday for the alleged beating, attempted sexual assault and robbery of a 78-year-old Lithonia woman.

Mr. Quiantae Collins, 18, was charged with criminal attempt to commit sodomy, robbery, aggravated assault, theft by taking and abuse of an elder person, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.

The attack of the septuagenarian happened on Stewart Lake Court on Sept. 17, according to the indictment.

Police said Mr. Collins knocked on the woman's door and said his grandmother wanted to borrow some washing powder, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The victim thought he was a relative of a neighbor and opened the door, according to reports.

“The indictment outlines a blatant criminal act where Collins knocked on the door of our victim and forcibly pushed his way into her home,” District Attorney Mr. Robert James said in news release. “He allegedly beat her, choked her, demanded money, robbed her and attempted to sexually assault her.”

He is accused of demanding oral sex from the woman after knocking her to the ground, prosecutors said.

Mr. Collins allegedly took the woman’s car keys, car and a check and fled. But he didn't get far because the car didn't have any gas in it, the news station reported.

Officers were called to investigate the car abandoned in the street and that's how they found the victim bruised and battered in her home. Mr. Collins was caught not far away.

He is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
