A teen girl was discovered with a dead baby in her bag, after being stopped and searched for suspicion of shoplifting at Victoria's Secret in New York Thursday. The teen girl, 17-year-old Tiona Rodriguez from Brooklyn, told authorities the dead baby was hers and that she'd suffered a miscarriage the day before, according to the New York Post on Oct. 17.
A security guard caught Rodriguez and an unidentified 17-year-old female companion, booting lingerie from the racks of the Herald Square Victoria's Secret store at 34th Street and Broadway around 1:30 p.m..
Security officers called police to the scene, who then detected a "strong odor" while inspecting the girl's bags. That's when they made the grisly discovery of the dead baby fetus, police said.

Rodriguez told the cops she had suffered a miscarriage a day earlier. The baby did not have any visible signs of trauma, and appeared to be in its sixth month of development, sources said.
The girl said she didn't know what to do with the dead baby fetus. But shocked shoppers nearby commented that she must be suffering some sort of psychological disorder, to carry the fetus in a bag and then shoplift too.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The teen mother was taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation, according to NBC New York.
So far Rodriguez has been charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Her friend has also been charged with those crimes.
