A Miami teen flipped of a judge after she was read charges and bond for possessing bars of Xanax. According to Huffington Post Feb. 5, Penelope Soto, 18, was arrested Sunday for the crime and showed blatant disrespect for Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat in Miami-Dade Circuit Court Monday.
When the teenager approached the bench to hear the charges, she was giggling. This made the judge ask her if she was high. "Actually no," was her answer. When he set her bond at $5,000, Penelope told him "Adios." At that point, he doubled her bail amount when she wasn't apologetic over her comment.
As Penelope made her way out of the courtroom, she flipped off the judge.
"Did you say f*** me?" he asked her.
"Yes, sir. I did," she replied.
Judge Rodriguez-Chomat sent her to 30 days in jail for contempt in court as well as charging her with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
After 30 days in jail, will the teen feel it was worth flipping off the judge?
