Rocker Ted Nugent's wife Shemane Deziel was arrested at the Dallas/Fortworth International Airport when security found that Deziel had brought a gun into one of the airports terminals according to Thursday, August 29 reports from TMZ.
Shemane Deziel-Nugent's lawyer David Finn confirmed Nugent's arrest stating that Shemane was detained at the Dallas airport for possessing a firearm in a prohibited area.
Nugent was arrested as she passed through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint. The firearm was found in a carry-on bag, according various news sources.
Shemane Nugent, 51, claims that she had worked late on Wednesday night, leaving home around 6 a.m. this morning to catch her flight forgetting that she had a gun in her bag.
Attorney David Finn stated:
"This was an honest mistake by a law-abiding lady, and I am confident that the prosecution and grand jury will realize that it was simply an honest mistake," he said. "Unfortunately, this happens to many people every single day at our airports.
"Shemane is embarrassed and apologizes to the authorities and any passengers that were inconvenienced by her mistake."
Ted Nugent's wife Shemane was released from airport custody on Thursday afternoon.
Shemane Deziel married the "Motor City Mad Man" in 1989, the two share one child together, son Rocco Winchester Nugent.
Shemane has been married to the "Cat Scratch Fever" rocker, Ted Nugent, 64, since 1989 -- they have one child together.
