Rock legend and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent has never been called "shy." He pulled no punches Sunday evening when he lashed out at President Obama for pledging to make gun control a priority, calling the president and his administration "monsters" and their plans “psychotic.”
“A person who lives by logic and studies history and tries to implement the lessons learned by history cannot begin to rationally explain the conduct of this president or his attorney general or this administration,” Nugent said. “It is psychotic, it is crazy, it is illogical.”
Speaking to investigate reporter Aaron Klein of WABC Radio in New York Sunday evening, Nugent argued that people who want more gun laws, gun control and even gun bans in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre are the real monsters.
“Obama’s dream already exists, and those are called gun-free zones, and that is where the most innocent lives are lost,” Nugent told Klein. “What kind of monster would want more of these? Because if you ask for more gun-free zones, if you further disarm innocent Americans, you are literally engineering slaughters.”
Nugent has sold more than 40 million rock albums, written a New York Times bestseller and sits on the board of the National Rifle Association.
He is also a passionate debater when it comes to gun-control legislation, using “logic and common sense and science and evidence and history.”
Nugent doesn't parse words when asked about Obama's decision to create a study panel on gun legislation with Joe Biden and Eric Holder.
“That’s like hiring [notorious child killer] Jeffrey Dahmer to tell us to how to take care of our children,” Nugent said.
Nugent has received letters from men and women in the armed forces who “are offended and absolutely insulted by the commander-in-chief and this move to de-soul the U.S. Constitution.”
"‘You speak for me,’ they tell me,” Nugent said.
