Ted Cruz 'Washington doesn't listen' best sound bite of 2013

Ted Cruz has been a United States senator for just a year, but he has already made more news, annoyed more people, and excited even more people than most of the rest of the 99 members of the Senate. According to a Jan 3, 2013 post in Pajamas Media, pollster and political analyst Frank Luntz declared that Cruz had the best sound bite of 2013.

The sound bite in question was from the floor of the senate in which Cruz stated flatly that men and women in Washington do not listen to the American people, a fact more important in his view than any other issue. Luntz’s polling suggested that Cruz’s statement, more than any other coming out of the mouth of a politician, resonated the most with Americans. Luntz went on to suggest that “Washington doesn’t listen” is going to be a potent campaign theme, not only in 2014 but in 2016 as well.
