While speaking to the Texas Public Policy Foundation on Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said the "lawless" Obama administration's handling of its signature healthcare law is "dangerous and terrifying," the Daily Caller reported.

“Obamacare has single-handedly been an illustration in lawlessness at a breathtaking scale,” Cruz told the group, citing the numerous exemptions and changes unilaterally made by the administration.

“There is a level at which all of this is ludicrous, but there is also a level at which all of this is dangerous and terrifying,” he added.

“We are a nation of laws and not men,” Cruz said. “If we had a system where a president can pick and choose what laws to follow at utter whim … that is seriously dangerous.”

Cruz also warned Democrats and their far-left allies that they may come to rue the day they allowed Obama to get away with ruling like a dictator, saying their “guy ain’t gonna be there forever."

"If this president has that power so does the next one and the next one and the next one, and my message to all the Democrats and all the liberals is, what do you think about the next president, maybe a Republican, having the power Barack Obama has as a president who is not bound by the law?” he added. “If you love liberty, that should concern you greatly.”

But Democrats seem to be okay with Obama ruling by fiat, and have actually called on him to issue dictatorial decrees on a variety of issues, including the minimum wage and immigration.

The far-left Daily Kos even published a dairy calling for a "benevolent" Obama dictatorship, and Harry Belafonte has said Obama should rule like a third-world dictator and jail GOP opponents.

The longer the Obama administration remains in power, the more Democrats and their allies clamor for America's first African-American president to become a dictator, bypassing Congress and issuing edicts as he sees fit on a variety of measures.

As a result, protest movements like Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment have sprung up, educating the public and demanding Congress reassert their Constitutional authority to rein the White House in.

Others, like retired Maj. General Paul E. Vallely, say the public should force Obama to resign, along with Vice President Joe Biden, and congressional leaders of both parties in the House and Senate.

Another movement, Operation American Spring, is seeking Obama's resignation, using a protest similar to that in Egypt that saw regime change.

During the 2012 presidential election, Ron Paul warned that Obama is set to become America's first elected dictator.

"It is flaunting the Constitution and the whole principle of how we’re supposed to operate. The idea they can just do this and take over the legislative function and brag about it -- and Congress does nothing and the courts do nothing about it, it's very, very bad," he said.

"He's moving in that direction. He's dictatorial, is what he is," the former Texas Congressman added.

Several Republicans have threatened impeachment, but none have taken any action -- perhaps due to the fact that a Senate run by Harry Reid will never vote to convict no matter how egregious Obama's actions become.

The situation is now so bad that Michael Cannon, director of the Cato Institute's Health Policy Studies, told Congress that Obama's lawless behavior could spark armed conflict.

Nothing, of course, would make some members of the media happier than to see Obama use the military to destroy the Tea Party, but the end result would not be pretty no matter the outcome.

It's all enough to make one wonder if liberals really do want a second bloody civil war in America.
