When the news broke that Ted Cruz was to be the subject of a children’s coloring book, a great deal of tittering ensued among certain parts of the media. But as Newsmax reported on December 12, 2013, the last laugh is being enjoyed by the company selling the book and, by extension, Senator Cruz.
“A coloring book starring Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is selling like hotcakes on Amazon.
“Called "Cruz To The Future," the $5.39 book is the No. 1 best-seller on the company's website in the coloring books category — and even beats "Stars Wars" and "Angry Birds" coloring books.”
The takeaway is that there will be a lot of young children coloring images of Texas’ most famous senator with “bold colors, not pale pastels” as the late President Reagan once put it. In a way, once supposes, it helps cement Cruz’s political future for decades to come. Cruz is in his early 40s and, even if he were to be elected president in the near future, can look forward to decades on the political stage. The kids who will be enjoying his coloring book this Christmas will, in about ten or 15 years, be registered voters.
The writer predicts that soon every politician will want his or her own coloring book.
