Quick dear reader: what is your favorite oldie by Sam Cooke?
So many good ones but the column has to go with Wonderful World. The Republican theme song.
Don’t know much about history, don't know much biology… etc.
(Inre biology, especially about women.) Bada bing.
Basically the GOP is unschooled in the entire academic curriculum.
Which leads the discussion back to Ted Cruz, United States Senator. No digression, just a lead-in.
Mr. Cruz is a Republican from Texas.
He periodically wants his state to secede. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out and give back the military bases. And print your own money.
Good luck with work related disasters. And natural ones.
But Texas won’t leave. Heavy sigh.
Inre history, it didn't work out so well for the states that seceded last time. And they were spared more misery by the compassion of President Lincoln.
Cruz wants to run for President. He was born in Canada. Just saying. Really. Not just made up nonsense. There is paperwork.
The only Presidents exempt from the citizen clause were those born before our country was established.
This is the geography lesson. Canada is not part of the United States.
Now on to more history and simple math.
Cruz has said he admires Jesse Helms. Okay Ted: are you an overt and cruel racist or is it a case of don’t know much about history?.
The Senator- referencing the current one from the lede- has stated there should be 100 Helms in the Senate.
Okay, that would leave room for no one else.
So adios Senor Cruz.
P.S. Actually Cruz can count and has earned the ire of his compatriots in the House of Representatives when he said there aren't enough votes to defund Obamacare in the upper chamber. Oh Ted, logic and reason don't work with the Tea Party folks. You should know that.
