On June 1, 2014 Tecla’s K-9 Academy will be opening doors for business to their second training, daycare and boarding facility located in Elkridge, MD, conveniently situated near several popular routes for Baltimore commuters. With a 13,000 sq. ft. center, custom built kennels and boarding suites, a training room sound system, high-grade epoxy floors for sanitary control, and numerous other comforts, the new facility is set to be one of the most well-appointed, state-of-the-art dog training and daycare centers in the U.S. There is even a retail boutique for a host of dog food, treats and toys, as well as Tecla’s K-9 Academy gear.

Ms. Tecla Walton, CPDT-KA, Pack to Basics Certified and founder of K-9 Academy, is determined to meet Maryland dog owner’s needs. “Our number one priority has always been to help dogs and their owners and with the addition of our second location we will be able to do this on an even larger scale. I see so many people come in with their dogs after being released from another daycare because their dog is ‘unsociable’ or after seeing two or three other trainers without success, and we turn these dogs around. It is a beautiful thing to be a part of these transformations and I am excited that my team and I will be able to reach out to more of the people and dogs that need our help,” says Ms. Walton.

Nationally renowned for her dog training skills, specifically in puppy imprinting, behavioral modification and dog sport, Ms. Walton has been achieving significant results in the greater Baltimore area and beyond. She is also responsible for saving the lives of hundreds of rescued and forgotten dogs, which were suffering from severe behavioral problems and having difficulty being placed in a home.
