TAMPA — The tech stars are about to align, and the result will be a convergence of the best and brightest Tampa Bay has to offer.
This aggregation of talent, representing the Bay area’s kick-off to Global Entrepreneurship Week, is set for Monday, Nov 14, 7 p.m., at the Tampa Museum of Art, 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza, in Tampa.
There is no charge to attend, organizers said.
Tampa Bay is one of just three locations that Startup America Partnership, announced by President Obama in January, picked to launch its Sunshine State initiative, Startup Florida. The partnership was launched in response to the president’s call to “celebrate, inspire, and accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship” throughout the nation.
“This is the one event this year that you will not want to miss if you are part of Tampa Bay's exciting technology innovation community, and you have any interest in the region's economic future,” organizers said.
The University of Tampa Sykes College of Business Entrepreneurship Center (UTS) is the sponsoring agency for the event. Opening remarks will be made by Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who recently declared November as Entrepreneurship Month. (Read article here.)
“Because of a strong collaborative spirit, Tampa Bay WaVE and other like-minded organizations continue to make even more resources available to our local business and technology innovators,” Tampa Bay WaVE Founder and Executive Director Linda Olson said. “It’s a great time to be an entrepreneur in Tampa Bay, and we are excited to be celebrating this with Startup America Partnership.”
