Tech in Motion Philadelphia, part of a national event series, hosts monthly events in the city to bring together the technology community. While the event on Thursday will be an informal format with a focus on tech networking, past events also include speaker series, expert panel discussions and drinks & demos presentations. Every event with an educational feel also has a networking aspect to it as well. Guests can RSVP to reserve their space here.

"Tonight was good - managed to get into a few conversations, which was a few more than I thought I'd have beforehand," said Tech in Motion member John M. on the meetup page after the Tech Connection Mixer in February.

Sponsored by Jobspring Partners and Workbridge Associates, two IT job placement companies, the events usually attract their clients' hiring managers as well as job seekers. However, the crowd is usually a diverse mix of tech industry professionals, with a healthy dose of local startup leaders and business owners.

"Overall it was a fantastic event full of entrepreneurs," said Philadelphia Entrepreneur Examiner Jason Sherman in an article recapping March's event, "great networking, healthy sandwiches, and don't forget that savory craft beer."

In addition the Philadelphia chapter, Tech in Motion has regular meetups in ten cities across the continent, including one in Toronto, New York, Boston, Silicon Valley and Washington D.C. Past speakers at events have included prominent individuals from well-known companies such as Twitter, Apple, the Huffington Post and the Obama 2012 election team, to name a few. The events are almost always free, and attendees are encouraged to bring other tech enthusiasts with them as well. For more information about the Tech in Motion Philadelphia's Spring Tech Mixer, further details are available here, as well as the option to RSVP.
