Tech Cocktail Sessions for Boston Entrepreneurs

Business Week reports: The NFIB estimates that over the lifetime of a business, 39% are profitable, 30% break even, and 30% lose money, with 1% falling in the "unable to determine". As a would-be entrepreneur, you can easily find different statistics from different sources, most of them less optimistic... assuming you're not perusing at-home-business pyramid scheme pamphlets. You need all the help you can get.

With that in mind, Tech Cocktail Sessions is offering the opportunity for Boston's aspiring entrepreneurs to receive the wisdom of those whose start-ups were successful.

From the event's website:

The goal of Tech Cocktail Sessions is to inspire and educate people on how to start and run a business with experienced entrepreneurs sharing their personal stories. Each month will have a different theme related to the various elements that go into starting up and building a company and feature a diverse set of entrepreneurs who will share their experiences.

From the organizer:

I'd like to cordially invite you to attend the kickoff of our monthly Boston speaker series, Tech Cocktail Sessions, on Monday, May 14, 2012. The goal of Tech Cocktail Sessions is to inspire and educate people on how to start and run a business with experienced entrepreneurs sharing their personal stories. Each month will have a different theme related to the various elements that go into starting up and building a company, featuring a diverse set of entrepreneurs who will share their experiences.

Sessions was born out of the positive response to our annual Startup Mixology Conference which breaks down the various ingredients that go into starting and running a business in today's technology and business landscape. But rather than offer you one opportunity a year, we're now bringing this opportunity to you each month. We hope you can join us as we kick things off next week in Boston.

We are excited to have the following keynote speakers for the event:

Jeff Janer, Co-founder of Springpad

Jessica Kim, Founder and CEO, BabbaCo
