This year's NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) will host the 28th Annual Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards. Presented by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the audio industry’s most prestigious awards event will be held on Friday, January 25 at the Hilton Anaheim during the 2013 NAMM Show.
Living legend Pete Townshend will receive the prestigious Les Paul Award, as presented by Les' son, Russ. Additionally, Record Plant President Rose Mann-Cherney will be inducted into the TEC Hall of Fame.
The celebration of the past year’s highest achievements in sound technology and music production will feature 28 awards for audio products and projects, and will be co-produced with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). “We are honored to partner with the great folks at the TEC Foundation to produce the TEC Awards at NAMM”, said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “Since the early days of NAMM and exhibitors like the Edison Company, technology and creativity have been at the heart of the advancement of the music industry.”
The event will be hosted by John Sebastian, original member of the Lovin' Spoonful and is schedule to perform with a vast array of musicians such as Phil Chen (Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Ray Manzarek) and Tal Wilkenfeld (Allman Brothers Band, Mick Jagger, Chick Corea).
