The New York Jets brought in Tim Tebow to challenge Mark Sanchez for the starting quarterback position this past season.
But Tebow never challenged Sanchez, as he was held back for most of the season. Now, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Jets will try their best to trade him, but if no team would be willing to trade for him, they will release him.
There is not expected to be much interest in a trade for the former first round pick by the Denver Broncos out of Florida. One GM informed Schefter that he believes that Tebow's "career is over without playing another position."
But all his career, he has proved people wrong. In 2011, he took the Broncos from having no chance to making the playoffs to winning a Wild Card game over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
There was speculation that the Jacksonville Jaguars were interested in bringing Tebow home. However, with a new GM and head coach in place, they are no longer interested in the quarterback.
He is expected to be a Jet until March 12th, which is when the new league year opens. He had 73 offensive snaps in 2012.
