Last night with the 25th pick in the NFL draft, the Denver Broncos surprised the football landscape by selecting former Florida Gator QB, Tim Tebow. He was one of only two quarterbacks that were chosen in the first round. Fellow believer in Christ, Sam Bradford, went number one to the St. Louis Rams.
As expected Tebow was very excited about being picked by Denver, but there are many skeptics who question the pick because of his un-prolike style. When asked about the doubts that surround him, Tebow simply said, "I will do whatever they ask and do it ito the best of my ability."
What fans want to know is will Tebow's best lead to success? One Denver caller on ESPNRadio (heard in Columbus on 97.1 The Fan) was upset with the Bronco pick stating the opinon that you can't win championships with character guys. I suppose he should tell that to Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, and Tony Dungy.
Other analysts who disagree with the Tebow pick have gone on record, saying that you don't waste a first round pick on a player that will not make an immediate impact on the team, although every single analyst agrees that Tebow has the intangible qualities of leadship, work ethic, and motivation. Question: Can those qualities not make an immediate impact on your team? Even if it takes a few years for the off-season missionary to develop his game, this examiner believes that Tim Tebow will make a positve and succcessful impact in Denver.
