Looks like this summer will bring the return of our beloved slasher franchise Hatchet. While it hasn’t really lived up to the hype we have enjoyed watching Victor Crowley rip victims apart in the last two features. It was announced today that Hatchet 3 will receive a short theater release on June 14th. It will premiere on both the east and west coast at New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall. Hatchet 3 will also have a new director as A and B camera operator from the first two films BJ McDonnell makes his directorial debut.
HATCHET III continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.”
