On Sunday night, a rescue agency in Los Angeles, Calif., received a phone call from a tearful, young girl who had a special request.
The child wanted to know if the agency could take her cat and help to find her a home because her parents had lost their house and her family had to move.
Unfortunately, the rescue organization that the girl had called specializes in the rescue of street and shelter dogs - not cats.
However, the rescue organization, Ghetto Rescue FFoundation, was so moved by the plight of the little girl, who is desperate to find a safe place for her feline friend, that they decided to do what they could to help.
The agency put a plea out to their Facebook fans, stating:
We can't imagine loving a pet and having to make that call as a CHILD!
Keeping our opinions to ourselves let's try to find this kitty a home. She's 2 yrs old, likes cats and afraid of dogs. Has claws and is an indoor kitty. She is spayed. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org her name is Leila.
One sad, desperate little girl, one young kitty in need...please take a moment to share this information to help Leila the cat find a new family to call her own.
