Team USA won three medals during the first day of competition at the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games.

Team USA also came away with a Preliminary Round win in Group B of the Ice Sledge Hockey competition. They outplayed Italy to win 5-1. Unfortunately, Team USA was not victorious in their first showing in Wheelchair Curling, falling to Slovakia in a 4-6 loss in Round Robin Session 1.
