Team Orr beats Team Cherry 4-3 at Top Prospects Game

According to the Canadian Press on Wednesday, Team Orr defeated Team Cherry 4-3 in the 2014 Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects Game at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

Jared McCann, a centre for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League scored the game winning goal for Team Orr, coached by former Calgary Flame Tim Hunter, with 3:29 left in the third period.

McCann rifled the puck in the slot past Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers, and was later named Team Orr player of the game.

Three players had a multi-point game for Team Orr--Joshua Ho-Sang of the Windsor Spitfires, captain Aaron Ekblad of the Barrie Colts and defenseman Julius Honka of the Swift Current Broncos. Ho-Sang notched a goal and an assist, while Ekblad and Honka had two assists each.

Team Cherry, who was coached by former Calgary Flame Jim Peplinski, battled back to tie the game at three before Team Orr went ahead.
