Team Canada wins men's hockey gold on final day of Universiade

According to the 2013 Winter Universiade website on Saturday, Team Canada won the gold medal in men's hockey at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy.

University of New Brunswick center Chris Culligan of Sydney, Nova Scotia led the Canadian attack with two goals and one assist as Canada beat Kazakhstan 6-2 in the gold medal game. St. Francis Xavier University defenseman Josh Day of St. John's, Newfounland also had a multi-point game as he notched a goal and an assist.

Canada got revenge on Kazakhstan, who beat Canada 4-2 in the round robin on December 15.

With the gold medal, Canada won eight medals at the Winter Universiade in Italy--two gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals. They finished in tenth place in the overall medal standings. Russia led the pack with 50 medals, followed by South Korea at 24 medals and Poland at 23 medals.
