Teachers have a lot cut out for them, because they'll have to outdo themselves over the past two years as the finale of the student-run Talent Show at Walter Reed Middle School in Studio City, California.
The first year, the teachers did ballet. See:
Last year, mostly the same group tapped into the popular You Tube sensation. Well, History teacher Don Helverson recreated the South Korean rapper Psy and the teachers did it "Gangnam Style" and it almost created a riot in the school auditorium over the weekend.
See the video above, and click through some the photo gallery.
The teachers include math teacher Michele Szymanski (sister to Examiner editor, Mike), history teacher Patti Eskander, English humanities teacher Tiffany Federico, science humanities teacher Carmelita Enriquez and math teacher Kate Mansfield.
As you can tell, they outdid themselves.
Also, the Talent Show tonight (I have it on good authority) will be a real "thriller."
If you're nearby, it's worth dropping in to see some of this talent. The Walter Reed Talent Show is a big fundraiser for the Humanities program. It's only $10 (or $5 with a Reed ID). There's an art exhibit in the foyer of the auditorium by students and teachers too, it's on Friday, Oct. 24, and there's food trucks there beforehand, too, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The show is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and you can get tickets here: reedfoha.org
The school is at 4525 Irvine Ave. in Studio City.
