Teacher suspended for lassoing student in history class, student bruised

A Texas teacher suspended for lassoing a student has promised never to use a lasso in class again, Fox News reported this Thursday, Feb. 14. The teacher was suspended after reportedly throwing a lasso around a student during a class activity on cattle drives, bruising the student’s neck.

The middle school teacher had asked for volunteers to show students how to lasso like the old cowboys did in history class, demonstrating on a student and leaving a lasting impression.

“The teacher visited students, teling them how the cowboys would corral steers back into the herd,” said a school district spokesman.

The student volunteer was pictured showing serious bruises around his neck, and the teacher suspended for lassoing the student at hand has apologized, yet may face criminal charges.
