The NBC Bay Area news reports an incident about a Benicia teacher’s arrest on Friday. Charges involve Teresa Gilmete Badger, 47, a Matthew Turner Elementary first grade school teacher who put the “pot” in potluck. During an employee potluck, Badger brought food laced with marijuana.
Authorities report that at least two teachers became ill after eating the affected food. At least two victims were admitted into the hospital for stomach pains and other symptoms. One victim tested positive for marijuana in her blood. A third victim was a 15-year-old who also experienced stomach pains after eating the tainted food brought home by a family member.
Badger allegedly confessed to some co-workers about the laced food. Police booked Badger into the Solono County Jail and charged with her with three counts of poisoning. The story didn’t publish any comments from Badger or any comments about her employment status with the school.
