A trusted educator at Grants High School in Grant, Mew Mexico, has been arrested and is in jail. He is facing several felony charges.

A teacher, Jacob Jaurique, 28, is accused of having sex with a female student and sexually abusing two others. Most of them occurred in school. Jaurique is being charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor. He was a shop teacher and also assistant wrestling coach.

Along with sexual assault allegations from two other students, the Grants High School teacher is being accused of having sex with a student in metal shop.

Detectives had one of the victims, an 18-year-old student, draw a sketch to show where the intercourse had taken place. Jaurique has admitted to having sex with the student, and that it was at the school in the metal shop.

In the other cases, a 15 year-old student says Jaurique touched her bottom and her breast at school, asking her “When are you going to give me the time of day?” A 17 year-old student reported similar allegations, saying he was flirtatious with her and had touched her bottom on two separate occasions.

According to KOAL, all of these allegations happened last fall, but came to light earlier this year.

The investigators used one of the students Facebook page to help catch the teacher. Jacob Jaurique told the student she did not have to talk to police and she could lie to them without any consequences.

The District Attorney explains that children are a protected class and he takes this case very seriously. Jacob Jaurique is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor.
