'Teach Me How To Dougie' rapper dead at 25

Another member of the Cali Swag District has passed away. This time it wasn't a stray bullet that caused the death but instead a rare disease. According to TMZ on Saturday, JayAre of "Teach Me How To Dougie" fame lost his battle with sickle cell anemia. He was just 25-years old.

It's been reported that JayAre, whose real name is Cahron Childs, went into cardiac arrest on Friday. He had already been hospitalized for unknown reasons on Thursday and was still hospitalized when he went into cardiac arrest. According to his surviving band mate Smoove Da General, JayAre began having seizures while sleeping on his mother's couch on Thursday

Unfortunately JayAre is not the first member of the group to die. Montae "M-Bone" Talbert was murdered in 2011 in a drive by shooting. The lone surviving member of Cali Swag District is Chante "Yung" Glee. He was reportedly sitting in his car in a liquor store parking lot when he was shot twice in the head. In his honor, Cali Swag District released their single, "How To Do That" just three days after his death.

The song "Teach Me How To Dougie" took the nation by storm in 2010. The single went platinum twice and got the whole nation doing the "Dougie," a popular dance. Even Michelle Obama demonstrated the "Dougie" while on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." No other releases from the group attained that high level of attention. They released a mixtape in 2014 called "The Kickback."

Even though Cali Swag District never lived up to their full potential, this is a huge loss to the hip hop community. JayAre and the rest of his group made history with "Teach Me How To Dougie" and ignited a dance craze like none other. JayAre will certainly be missed.
