Teach for America earns top marks again

For the third consecutive year, Teach for America in Nashville has earned top marks for teacher education. That means the students of their teachers are earning high marks on the required state tests.

Why is this significant? Because if you are going to be a teacher, you want to be in a program that has proven they can train you so students pass the state tests?

Why is this significant? Because your job depends on it. In Tennessee, and many states, part of your annual evaluation as a teacher is how well your students do on the state tests.

What is different about Teach for America? While teaching, you earn a master's degree, similar to many apprentice-type careers. They are selective in who is admitted since they want only the best individuals to become teachers.
