Tea time

So maybe Boulder is not precisely in the Denver metro area, and this location is not precisely a museum, but expand the radius and take a trip to Celestial Seasonings. Tea is the centerpiece in this landmark Colorado destination. Located a few miles north of the University of Colorado, Celestial Seasonings is one of the most gorgeous production plants one can visit. Mo Siegel co-founded Celestial Seasonings with friend Wyck Hay in 1969, starting the natural foods movement which has spread worldwide. The tea is still all natural, and the original recipes are still being used. Red Zinger was one of the first teas blended and sold at Celestial Seasonings and it maintains it’s status as a favorite. Take the tour of the plant and see the production of tea from start to packaging. If you have a cold or sinus congestion, a trip to the Mint Room will clear you up in a jiffy! Then, visit the Celestial Café for an exceptional lunch. The food is very good, the view of the mountains is unrivaled, and tea is always served. Finish the day with a trip to the Tea Shop, where all Celestial Seasonings teas are for sale at a discount. There are also tea pots, specialty honeys, and snacks for the gourmands in the group; hats, aprons, and “tea-shirts” for the fashionable; and even the computer set is considered with screensavers and other pc items. Be sure to pick up a Sleepytime bear, the quintessential representative of some of the finest teas to be found this side of Tibet.
