Saying “we've gone down the road far enough that a coup is the only option, Judson Phillips of the Tea Party Nation, posted an essay on their forum calling for a coup. Tea Party Nation, one of the largest organizations in the TEA Party movement, was founded by Phillips, who is an assistant district attorney in Shelby County, Tennessee.
“The target of the coup is John Boehner,” Phillips writes, “It is time for conservatives in the House of Representatives to rise up and depose John Boehner as Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
Phillips noted that Boehner knows something about coups in the Congress because he was part of the coup against Newt Gingrich that lead to his decision to give up his position as Speaker of the House.
“The Tea Party swept John Boehner into the Speaker’s seat in 2010,” Phillips writes, “Back then; the Republicans were saying all of the right things and conservatives believed them. They promised they would fight to repeal Obamacare. They promised they had learned their lesson and from now on would be fiscally responsible. They promised they would stand up against Obama’s insane spending and borrowing.”
In the time that Boehner has been speaker, the national debt has increased by $3 trillion dollars. This, Phillips points out, shows the lack of fiscal responsibility under the leadership of this speaker. Spending has been more excessive than under Nancy Pelosi as speaker, and Boehner has done little to fight the implementation of Obamacare. While Phillips didn't mention it in this essay, it should be noted that Boehner has resisted having a vigorous investigation of Benghazi and refuses to create select committees to investigate the various Obama-gate scandals.
“Soon the final battle will be upon us. That battle is the battle over Amnesty,” Phillips writes, “If the liberals can get Amnesty passed, they know it will create millions of Democrat voters and will give the Democrats a majority in the government for decades. John Boehner has already said that he wants Amnesty passed.”
I couldn't agree more. It's time for conservatives in the House to call for a vote on the speaker, vote him out in the Republican conference, and nominate a new Republican to become the Speaker of the House. And they shouldn't fall for electing RINO Eric Cantor either. I suggest they consider Trey Goudy or Trent Franks or Tom Graves.
