Tea Party Express slams the wrong Rep. King in its daily dose of hate email

The Tea Party Express is very sorry for sending out an email yesterday that they say was meant to cut New York Republican Congressman Peter King down to size. Except there is more than one Rep. King in the U.S. House of Representatives. They blasted the wrong guy.

What are the odds?

The email sent by the Tea Party Express, a California-based conservative activist group, sent an email blast yesterday that blasted Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King for opposing tea party values and didn't support the crazy tea party tactic of shutting down the federal government.

The Tea Party Express in the email that "At a time when the Republican Party’s priority should be embracing the conservative Tea Party movement in order to take control of the Senate and White House, efforts to attack grassroots conservatives are destructive."

They of course meant Peter King, not Steve King. There is a difference. Steve is the crazy one. Peter not so much.

It is Congressman Peter King that was one of the most vocal Republican opponents of the "failed" government shutdown strategies and he said so. Now, King launched an anti-tea party PAC, which appears to be what prompted the Tea Party express email.

The group sent out the following email to correct the record:

CORRECTION: We sent out this email earlier and made a glaring error that we apologize. We mistakenly wrote Steve King when it is Peter King that we have issue with. Unlike Peter King, who has been attacking the Tea Party with lies and smears, we hold ourselves accountable for the inaccuracies we make. We are sorry to you and our friend Steve King for the mistake.

Congressman Steve King is the crazy one who has made numerous controversial comments about immigrants. He got into a nasty exchange with ABC Univision host Jorge Ramos over a speech King delivered suggesting America had the “pick of the litter” when it comes to immigrants.

King also has said that says undocumented immigrants are primarily "130 pounds" with the "calves the size of cantaloupes because they’ve been hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert."

Maybe the Tea Party express did blast the right King.
