Tea-Brined Chicken at 694 Wine Bar's "TAX THIS" Wine Tasting on April 14th

I love tea and I love wine. When I can get a dose of both, I'm a happy girl. Just as if they read my mind, my friends at 694 Wine & Spirits scheduled an awesome wine tasting on Thursday, April 14th, starting at 7pm (right before the IRS tax return deadline on Monday).

The tasting itself is free, and features a bunch of wines imported by Wein-Bauer of Franklin Park, each poured by Brian Friedler, formerly of The Artful Dodger pub. While you are swigging some Seven Artisan's Meritage or Sauvignon Blanc by C.G. Di Arie, you'll have the option of chowing down on tea-brined grilled chicken (grilled on 694's own Weber). One of the teas used in the brine will be the extraordinary Keemun from Chicago Tea Garden.

Along side the chicken will be a deconstructed potato salad, made up of Benton's Country Bacon, potatoes, herbs and a homemade aioli.

(Notice how I listed the bacon first in that list of potato salad ingredients? Yep, it's that good.)

Plus, 694 also sells wine at retail: Buy a bottle to take home during the tasting and 694 will pick up the sales tax. Buy 6 bottles, and get a 15% discount.

Interested? Reservations aren't absolutely required, but you'd be wise to book ahead if you want to make sure you get some of that yummy chicken and potato salad. Give 694 a call at: 312-492-6620.
