Tea and Treasure partners with Coupeville Natural Market

Since Tea and Treasure opened in Coupeville in 2009, Roland Petrov’s cozy store, with a great assortment of tea and tea accessories, attracted tea lovers from Whidbey Island and elsewhere.

In early November of 2011, the store moved from its location on Front Street to join with Coupeville Natural Market at 404 N. Main (across from Whidbey Island Bank) in Coupeville.  Roland says, “This is a perfect partnership.  We needed to lower our costs or raise our prices.”  He adds, “When we met Mark and Aprile Gaudinier, whose store is extremely spacious, we realized that we could both benefit from moving our tea store in with their natural food store.”

Coupeville Natural Market is known for an excellent selection of supplements and many organic and gluten free items. Since tea is a healthy product, the addition of Tea and Treasure was a logical fit.

The new location features a help-yourself-tea-bar that invites customers to relax with hot tea in between shopping for their other natural food needs.

Both Coupeville Natural Market and Tea & Treasure have the same philosophy: To keep prices low and help out the community. Tea & Treasure always gives fundraising gift baskets to worthy causes, such as the Lions Club and the Boys & Girls Club, and Coupeville Natural Market routinely donates food to Coupeville's food bank.

There is a comfortable meeting room on the premises. As long as it's used for the benefit of the community, small groups are welcome to reserve the space and use it free of charge. The two businesses want to promote their community and help revitalize the neighborhood.

Between the two businesses, there are new products available in the community that otherwise wouldn’t have been there.  Coupeville Natural Market is responsible for bringing Garlic Jim's gluten free vegan pizzas to the island, and Tea & Treasure has brought over the incredible Tease brand of loose leaf flavored teas from a small family business in Massachusetts and the Kwong Sang line of teas in from Hong Kong that are common in Chinatowns.

There is also licorice toffee from England, tea body lotion from upstate New York, and reasonably priced organic foods, including refrigerated items like eggs and goat cheese.

Coupeville Natural Market and Tea & Treasure are open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Tea can be ordered from Roland's website or by calling 206-355-4880.  Coupeville Natural Market’s number 360-720-2276
