February 1 - OBI's 16th Annual Mardi Gras. Featuring a variety of street performers, delicious food catered by The Spice Rack, silent and live auctions, and so much more! Mardi Gras begins at 6pm at OBI’s facility in Millersville. OBI has provided vocational training and employment services to adults with developmental disabilities for over 50 years.

February 7 - 3rd Annual American Heroes Hockey Challenge. The Prep Hockey Teams from DeMatha Catholic and Mount Saint Joseph High Schools will face off in a charity contest to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and USA Warriors Ice Hockey Team. $5 admission. Faceoff is at 7 p.m. at The Gardens Ice House in Laurel.

February 8 - Tasting the Past: Tea across the Centuries. Sip your way through the fascinating history of taking tea with foodways historian Joyce White. Sample popular teas and treats during this guided tasting. Registrations required by January 31. $22 tickets. 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Riversdale House Museum.

February 8 - Bay Area Shuckers Pro Basketball. Anne Arundel County's own pro basketball team hosts their rivals from the Washington Metro Area, the Beltway Bombers. Contests and giveaways including a chance to win a Kindle, iPod and more. Admission $10. Games starts at 7:10 p.m. at Annapolis Area Christian School's Kilby Center in Severn.
