Somebody's gonna make a superhero out of "The Dark Knight Rises" star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt yet. While he was rumored to be in consideration for the upcoming "Justice League"--which was later denied--ComingSoon.net revealed on Jan. 2. 2013 that Gordon-Levitt is one of the actors being considered for the role of Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.
Before Christmas, it was rumored that the choice for the role had been narrowed down to Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Zachary Levi ("Chuck"). According to the ComingSoon.net report, a few people in addition to these actors have been in consideration for the film.
Previous contenders for the role were Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy), Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), James Marsden (X-Men), Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn) and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom).
Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt played John Blake in Christopher Nolan's final installment of the Batman/ Dark Knight trilogy. When it was revealed at the end that the character was named "Robin," it fueled speculation that Gordon-Levitt would appear in other Batman stories with Forbes suggesting that he might take on the role of Nightwing. Time will tell if that speculation will begin anew with recent rumors that the cast of superheroes in the "Justice League" movie have been revealed, one of which is Batman.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to land in theaters on August 1, 2014.
