TCM finally gives Angie Dickinson the chance (sort of) she has wanted for years

Our friend Angie Dickinson loves Turner Classic Movies. She longed to be a guest programmer.
When she told us this, we emailed TCM and Robert Osborne many, many times.
Many, many times we never received a response and Angie never call a call.
Guess they drew the conclusion that Drew was a bigger draw.
But now TCM is tossing her bone.
TCM has added six stars and seven cities to this year's Road to Hollywood, the nationwide tour of free screenings leading up to the 2013 TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.
Yep, Angie Dickinson is one of them. So are Jane Powell, Mitzi Gaynor, Robert Wagner and Tippi Hedren.
Tickets are now available for the next Road to Hollywood events, a screening of the classic western Rio Bravo (1959) starring the legendary Dickinson, who along with TCM Host Ben Mankiewicz will be on hand to introduce the film on Tuesday, February 19 at the Historic Texas Theater in Dallas. Also, available are tickets to the screening of Fritz Lang's visionary sci-fi classic Metropolis (1927) set for Thursday, February. 21, at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Springs, MD. The film will be introduced by Mankiewicz and will feature an original score performed live by the highly innovative Alloy Orchestra. Free tickets can be obtained through the Road to Hollywood website at tcm.com/roadtohollywood.
In addition to Rio Bravo and Metropolis, upcoming screenings on the Road to Hollywood tour include Royal Wedding (1951), South Pacific (1958), The Pink Panther (1964) and Marnie (1964). Hosting duties for the screenings will be shared by Mankiewicz, TCM host Robert Osborne and film historian and Leonard Maltin. A complete schedule of events is included below.
