Taylor Swift headed into the “2013 MTV Video Music Awards” on Aug. 25, 2013 as a presenter and double nominee for "I Knew You Were Trouble" that was up for Video of the Year and Best Female Video and walked away with a Moonman statue for her win in the Best Female Video category.
Swift thanked her fans by saying "I want to thank the fans because I tweeted about this a lot, I really wanted this” and added in "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song because he knows exactly who he is, because now I've got one of these."
"I Knew You Were Trouble” is the song that has been rumored to be written about Swift’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles of One Direction fame. Styles was in the audience at the “2013 MTV Video Music Awards” during Swift’s thank you speech with the rest of his group.
One Direction presented the award for Best Pop Video which went to Selena Gomez who was sitting with Swift during the award show for her hit "Come & Get It." One Direction also scored a trophy during the show in the Best Song of the summer category for "Best Song Ever."
