Taylor Swift arrived solo on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday, Jan. 13. The singer - who recently split from boyfriend, “One Direction” boy band member Harry Styles - was beautiful in a deep plum, taffeta Donna Karan Atelier gown with a plunging back, mesh side panels and long train. Swift finished the look with elegant drop earrings and her hair pulled back into a low bun.
The 23-year-old singer was nominated for her song “Safe & Sound” which was featured in the film, “The Hunger Games." Swift told E!’s Ryan Seacrest, “It’s amazing to be nominated for Best Original Song. I’m just so thrilled to be here.”
When asked about the song Swift said, "Lionsgate Film came to us and said, 'We want you to write from Katniss' point of view' . . . My co-writers the Civil Wars and T-Bone Burnett were amazing." "We had this idea that we wanted the song to be about the empathy that goes into this film."
Swift avoided any talk of the recent breakup with Styles but thanked E!’s Ryan Seacrest for his hospitality when she performed for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve With Ryan Seacrest.”
