Taylor Swift shakes her way to the Billboard top spot

Taylor Swift introduced her new music to her fans and it landed her in the number one spot on the Billboard Artist 100 chart. Billboard reported on August 28, 2014 that Swift's latest release "Shake It Off" headed all the way to the top proving once again her fans are behind her and her new music.

Swift is the second female to hear her name called out as the leader of the Billboard Artist 100 list with "Shake It Off" pulling in big numbers including 544,000 downloads sold in the first week. Swift's latest single landed in the number one position on the Digital Songs chart and also claims the new title for the biggest weekly total for a song this year.

Swift recently spread the word that she would be releasing new music during a live worldwide stream revealing that a new single and album were on the way. Swift followed up her big announcement by bringing her latest song "Shake It Off" to life on stage for her first live performance of the single for all to see when she performed during the "MTV VMA Awards."

Swift's music video has been attracting a lot of attention to her new single and her "MTV VMA Awards" performance kept the spotlight right on her. Swift had fun with a stage full of dancers and got a laugh when she refused to make a leap down to the stage below her. Swift is keeping the laughs going by sharing video outtakes with her fans from the making of the "Shake It Off" video.

Swift said her thanks and shared her funny surprise by posting “I can't thank radio and you all enough for the Hot 100 #1! But I can give you this video of Shake It Off outtakes....” on her Facebook page. Swift’s new album that includes her new hit "Shake It Off" is titled “1989” and will be ready for you to get your hands on when it is released on October 27, 2014.
