The MTV Video Music Awards are less than a month away, and the network is ready to start plugging the show every chance they get. Case in point: Taylor Swift's new West Side Story-inspired promo currently airing in heavy rotation.

Swift will be performing at the show along with Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Pink, Green Day, and Muse, live from New York on September 13.

This ad is just the beginning, though. According to the behind-the-scenes clip below, a bevy of other artists have also recorded versions of the West Side Story classic, "Tonight," including Ne-Yo, Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester, Katy Perry, and host Russell Brand.
