Taylor Swift regains top spot on Billboard Country Song Chart

Taylor Swift has been shattering all sorts of records with "Red" and her smash hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." On Jan. 4 Billboard reported that the Nashville superstar took back the number one slot on the Country Song Chart, pushing Florida Gerogia Line's song "Cruise" down to the number two chart position. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" has spent twenty weeks on the chart so far with ten of those at number one. You would have to go back to the early 1960's to find a song with as much success when Buck Owens and Connie Smith ruled the chart.

Meanwhile Swift's blockbuster release "Red" sold 241,000 more copies last week, making it number one on the Billboard 200 chart where it's spent seven of it's 10 weeks since release. It's also been number one for ten straight weeks on the Country Albums Chart. Swift has lined up an ambitious tour to support "Red" and many fans are hoping that more shows will be added soon so they can see Taylor in their hometown. Swift rang in the new year in New York performing on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, singing " I Knew You Were Trouble," and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
