Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks receive Awards at ACM pre-ceremony

The awards have already started pouring out of Las Vegas with the Country Music Awards handing out  awards to some extremely successful celebrities. In the pre-ceremony of ACM Awards on Saturday, the names of those who are definitely country were once again acknowledged. Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks and Reba McEntire were all noted as individuals who made contributions over the year.

Taylor Swift received the 2011 Jim Reeves International Award, presented to an musician who has been seen contributing  to country music throughout the world.  Swift’s album, Speak Now has sold more than three million copies and she has booked a highly anticipated tour starting in May.

Garth Brooks was honored with the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award. The entertainer has a career spanning over 20 years and his catalog of music still plays on radios tonight.  This particular award honors those who are pioneers in the country music genre. 

Reba McEntire, known to her fans by just Reba, was given the Career Achievement Award. Over 30 years this entertainer has been performing and her honor shows just how popular she has become outside of the country music scene.  The award honors the advanced  popularity and acceptance of country music through their endeavors in the entertainment industry.

The ACM Awards are live Sunday night in Las Vegas, Nevada where the top country acts will be honored for the contribution to country music.
